Offered for your consideration is a vintage
Gillette
Deluxe TRAC II
razor in its original presentation box. Introduced in 1971, the revolutionary TRAC II featured an ergonomic handle and twin-blade, easy-to-install cartridges. The TRAC II permanently changed the wet shaving game and this style of razor is still with us in various guises 50 years later, whether using two blades or a silly four, five.
The Deluxe TRAC II features gold-electroplated head extending down to the brush-finished metal panel on the brown plastic handle with underside grip striations. Based on the S1 production code on the head’s underside, this razor was made in the first quarter of 1972.
So, please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this collectible TRAC II razor should be yours.
This Deluxe TRAC II razor is in clean, excellent condition. There are no scratches, nicks, or undue water or soap residue marks, just some very light signs of use from the years. It presents exceptionally well, which leads me to believe it wasn’t used very much before going into drawer storage for decades.
What’s more, the brown, leather-look hard storage case is in nice shape with no dings or true scratches, just some minor marks from the years as pictured. The black plastic insert is also well preserved, but does have a few small cracks at the razor contact points. And, the brochure and gold-electroplated spare blade cover that the razor originally came with were not with the razor when I acquired it and, as such, are not included.
Lastly, I am including five (5) later TRAC II Lubristrip blade cartridges, one of which I placed on the razor, for the new owner’s convenience. Somebody is going to be very pleased with this relatively scarce Deluxe TRAC II boxed set!
